Kelly was one of my FIRST High School Seniors this year! 

I did a few in the fall, but most of them are calling now to get their portraits taken before they graduate!

She is a High School Senior at Tivy High School here in Kerrville. 

I really enjoy shooting High School Seniors. 

I like to see all the outfits they will bring.

The jewelry.

The shoes.

The belts.

The accessories.

Portraits by Jenn: Maternity, Newborn, Children, Family and High School Seniors: Newborn Boys

Since mid November I have photographed NINE, that's right NINE newborn sessions. And you won't believe this, but they have ALL been newborn boys! It's totally awesome. The challenge was coming up with something different for each session. Boys are hard. There aren't the cute frilly tutus, or big flower bows, or socks that look like Mary Jane's. I had a blast photographing EVERY single one! It's funny how after a while they almost all start to look alike! 3 of these boys will be in Libby's Sunday School class at church, along with 2 others (not listed here) that are BOYS as well. She is the ONLY girl so far!!

I shot McKade the day before I was due to have Libby. He was the sweetest little thing. It was not easy getting up and down off the floor, but EVERY shot was worth it!

Portraits by Jenn: Maternity, Newborn, Children, Family and High School Seniors: Studio Closing

After many conversations with my husband, and lots of thought and prayer, I am officially announcing the CLOSING of my portrait studio on Earl Garrett as of February 1, 2011. 

(insert lots of tears here)

This past fall brought many changes to our family and a MUCH answered prayer after 6 1/2 years of trying to have a baby. Our little Libby was born and of course NOTHING went as planned, but EVERYTHING went according to God's will for our little girl and our family. Therefore, we are making more changes to do what is best for our family and that means me staying home more with my children.

I will still be doing photography.

I will not stop taking pictures. 

I will be doing less photography.

I will not stop taking pictures.

I will be doing mostly on-location photography, which is what I prefer to do anyway.

This DOES still include:

Maternity

Newborns

Children

Family

MINI SESSIONS

and 

a limited # of High School Seniors

Sessions will be very limited as I will become more of a SAHM (stay at home mom)

Not sure how good of a SAHM I will be, but we are going to try. 

I will be available mostly on the weekends and evenings.

Stay tuned for more on that as we are still trying to work out the kinks.

PLEASE DON'T WORRY

If you are already on my schedule, you are STILL on my schedule. 

If you are already one of my clients you will STILL be my client.

This does mean that you will need to book your sessions a little more in advance to get on the books.

I will be booking sessions 2-3 weeks out starting February 1, 2011. Most sessions will need to be in the evenings and on weekends. A change in my pricing structure will also be coming in February.

VEGAS BABY!!

So last week my hubby took me to Las Vegas for my 30th birthday (which was April 13th)!
I had NEVER been before, and we had a blast! Two of my bestest friends, Lauren and Becky, got to join us along with their hubbies! We stayed at our time share {the wyndham grand desert}, a "country mile" from the strip! One of my favorite things that I got to do was go to the Neon Boneyard where they have all the OLD neon signs that don't work anymore.

I wish I could tell you the history on all of these signs, but to be honest, I didn't even listen. I was too busy taking photos of them and getting some really COOL new textures to use! Hope you enjoy!

This one is for Erik (my husband) who is now addicted to playing Black Jack!

This one above was one of my FAVS. It was actually the old STARDUST sign, but they used the letters to spell out the word TRUST!

This one was actually used on an episode of CSI Las Vegas...which we watch EVERY week! How cool is that?

The funny thing is that Becky and Shane just celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary, so we had to take a pic by this sign.

(Lauren and Jerrod just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, but they didn't come to the boneyard with us)

Just to preface, I had to sign a waiver saying that I would not "publish" the photos that I took or, you know...sell them Rolling Stone...HAHAHA!!

As of January 1, 2008 I will be going back to having a home studio! I am VERY excited about this! I will be spending more time with my children, but still pursing my career which I LOVE!! The best of both worlds! My website is up and running...check it out...portraitsbyjenn.com (with 2 n's)! Eventually I will move into my own studio, but that could be a year from now...who knows!! I am available for studio portraits, but will mostly be doing "on-location" shooting! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to come to you! I love shooting with natural light and my reflector!! This is ESPECIALLY great with newborns. Please check the blog often and the website!
